Had a great time with these. There were probably better ways to rip seams which wouldn't have released thousands of half inch bits of blue thread into my apartment... And I'm going to be vacuuming stray down floofs for weeks. But an investment of 40 dollars for a set of summer quilts? Can't beat it.
Top Quilt - ripped seams along the long (70") axis. Moved down out of the two rows of squares on either side and sewed them off to trap all the down in 40"x70". Cut about 20" of unnecessary material from the bottom and closed with a rolled seam to make a foot box. Left some flaps of the down-less material to tuck under my torso. I'll probably trim these, and redo the seams of the bottom into an "H" to make it more boxy.

Underquilt - ripped seams along the short (60") axis and moved down out of 3 rows of squares on either side to trap all the down in 40"x60" and sewed them off. Cut off the empty sections leaving about 2" which I then rolled over to form channels for shock cord. For the ends I just sewed in tabs of 1" grosgrain ribbon so I can cinch them with another piece of shockcord. Came out really nice and lofty actually. There is a good bit of down in these quilts but its spread over too large an area and trapped in the stitching.
