TRAIL LAIR from Simply Light Designs

I just put a order in for a Trail Lair from Simply Light Designs. I think my daughter is going to love it. I found with my SLD the hammock was designed to fit me better than the rest of the gathered end hammocks. I have a problem with the "bucket" sensation. I am unable to get out of most GE hammocks easily. The way SLD are built somehow take care of the ungraceful exit.

I agree. There's something about the cut of the TL and how it's made to fit the bugnet. I'm basement hanging right now in mine, sans net. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy it!

My findings exactly - the first time in and out of the hammock I immediately noticed how much easier it was than the previous 2 hammocks that I owned. I am in the process of regaining my ego...each time I gracefully get out of my Lair.

The Trail Lair redeemed the integrated bug net hammock for me. Now my go to hammock for all camping or backpacking adventures. Plus, Jared is just awesome to work with.

I have a Tree Runner a 10 footer, it is my emergency back-up for when my RR won't fit between trees. Most of the places we Hang are heavily forested and the RR needs a lot of space.

My daughter is not closterphobic so I am sure the storeable netting will work well for her.

I am sort of a picky person, I have been very pleased with my purchases from Simply Light Designs.

Do you know how the Tree Runner differs from the Lair in terms of lay and structure?

Are you saying the Trail Lair is less "deep" than some of the others? I currently have an ENO singlenest and my fear of going bigger/longer is that I have short legs and have trouble climbing out of the bucket you describe. I also prefer being able to peek over the sides- not being smothered by extra fabric rolling over me.

These fears have kept me from moving up.

From your description it sounds like you should try out a bridge hammock.
