    Chameleon Amsteel ends??

Hello all, So I'm new to hammocks and got a Chameleon Hammock. I love this thing. It really is comfortable. BUT I want to change one of the ends amsteel color so I know what end I set my head up as. My question's are, What size amsteel already comes on the hammock 7/64 or 1/8? AND I assume its the 8in continuous loop that I'd want? I want it to match the other side that came on the hammock already. Just want a different color. Thank you for who replies.

8" 7/64 is correct. For many, myself included, Red=Head.

Awesome, thank you for the info. I'm guessing red would be easy to see better at night as well?.

Everything is black until you shine some light on it.

I use glow microwire on my chameleon's zipper tabs. On the inside, make 'em long enough that you can reach them after you get in. On the outside, make them long enough that they tend NOT to fall to the inside and get caught in the zipper.

If you're tarp is deployed, you're not going to see much of anything on the hammock from a distance anyway. I use reflect it for my tie-outs and mini-ucr's on the ridgeline. No problem finding it as long as you can flash a light across them.

buy the reflective 7/64" from Litesmith. Works great for CL's, and anything else you would use Amsteel for.

yea currently I just put yellow zing it for my tarp tie outs. But was thinking of getting a reflective type. Good call on the zipper pulls thanks again! I'm going to post some pics of current setup in the other thread of chameleon pics so if you want you can see with I'm working with there.

While I swear by reflective guys, pull outs, tarp ridgelines, etc, let me also rec commend a small, light clip on light like a luci light or nite-ize in a prominent place on or near your hammock. Learned that lesson once solo hiking with low batteries in my head lamp and misjudging dusk on an overcast day. Took me over an hour to find camp from not that far away.
