Maybe there's something simpler than this, but not to my knowledge.

Two of Dutchwaregear's 3.3 Kevlar straps, 15 feet each. Loop is on one end only. Use the plain webbing end and tie the J-Bend to the hammock closed loop (see J-Bend how-to on the youtube). Voila.

Here is the complete heavy(?) suspension for just about any trees (before they got dirty).

No biners, toggles, whoopies, soft shackles, or metal pieces -- only two webbing pieces for a complete, go-almost anywhere suspension. Adjustable for trees close or far apart. Peace of mind, too simple to screw up. Only two parts, other than the hammock's closed loops.

BTW, I replace my 1/8" Amsteel hammock closed loops from time to time when I suspect wear. Can buy them ready made, splice them yourself, or tie you own quickly using triple fisherman's bend, same for making your own dogbones for those who use those. I just tie mine.

WOW! I have some new hitches to try out now. I appreciate these responses. I can't wait to hang with a new suspension, now to re-read these replies and choose one or more to try out, some seem really simple and I like that. I also always wanted to see whoopie slings up close, might be leaning towards that in the future. I might dig out my old climbing webbing for now, and see if I can repurpose it, don't know why I didn't think of it before you all started mentioning different hitches.
    Thanks!

    A low cost solution.

Naje your own tree huggers from old car seatbelts ir new webbing(im sure its cheap enough for 35mm wide)

Make your own UCR or whoopie slings-2.5m each end is enough and 3mm dyneema sk75/78 is cheap enough.

Watch the tutorials frim HF and taje yoyr time and you will get a professional result.

1/2" Mule tape with Beckit hitches and continuous loops on your hammock is just about the lightest, cheapest, most simple, system you could ever find. Ive never had a Beckit fail. Add some short tree straps if you want and your set. I turned my buddy on to this and now all his titanium sets in a box, but he did add some Dutch Kevlar tree straps for an extremely light weight, compact, and park friendly set up.
But for the grace of God, there, I go...
