I noticed this exact same thing yesterday during my first hang of my Chameleon. I have the 1.6 and it's not as saggy in the "rear end" area so it's not as hard to get out but it's definitely a lot of pressure on the back of the knees. I also do not user the tie outs. This is one of the reasons I like my Warbonnet Ridge Runner , sitting in it is so much easier.

I have the 2.4 Hexon and it's also not fantastic behind the knees when sitting. I don't have any trouble standing up, though.

i have to admit, I never would have come up with folding the hammock back on itself while trying to sit more comfortably

It never bothered me [on my Chameleon], because I've been doing the fold back thing for sitting for so long.
However, I don't recall having any difficulty in getting in and out even to sleep... and I'm older than dirt, ain't too flexible anymore anyway.
