    2 Hammocks

I started working on a hammock for my one son back in April. With my trip and work geting really busy, I never had time to finish it for him. So yesterday I figured I would finish it. Here are a few pics. 45" ripstop, camo bug netting with ridge line.

Then my other son wanted one, so I had him pick the fabric, got 3 types of ripstop. He chose the 60". So I figured I would add a ridge line later as we were heading over a friends house. Well I don't think we need one and my kids call it the Canoe hammock. It sleeps really well, I spent the night in it.

Looks great Iafte. It looks like the kids are really going to enjoy that.

you may want to caution them about getting up on those elbows & knees. it's cute now, but some day....

He was getting out and I wanted to see how strong the hammock was. At one point me and him were both in it, Not bad for 10ft of $1/yard fabric from walmart. Whole cost in 2 hammocks, ~$6.

Of course I needed to buy more bug netting today because my daughter also wants one and I need to make a bug net for my setup.

I do need to find more silnylon so I can make tarps now for each one.

ahhh, so the daughter will make 3 new young hammockers to add to the ever growing list.
in case you don't already know, speer hammocks seems to be the cheapest reliable source of silnylon... $4.00 per yard.

I got lucky and found 15 yards at wally world for $1/yard when I first got into making my own gear, just need to get that lucky again. There are a bunch around me, I just need to stop on my way home from work.

    Hi
It looks as though your bug net just drapes over the ridge line and down over both sides of the hammock, is this right?
Does the bug net attach to the hammock in any way?
    Cheers

The bug net is actually attached to one side, I am thinking of putting a zipper on the other side but right now it just drapes.

    -To clarify-

The green hammock has a ridge line, the bug netting is attached on one side and drapes over the ridge line. The tan hammock is a deeper hammock and the bug net is attached the same way but don't need a ridge line because when you are laying in the hammock the bug netting is ~6 inches from your face just draped over the other side.

On a good note: Me and my oldest son(green hammock) spent the night in our hammocks last night. He slept the whole night in it and had no issues other that his huge colman sleeping bag kept slipping out of the hammock where his body was not in it. So this morning he says to me "Dad, I think I want a zipper on the other side so my sleeping bag stays in the hammock." Now I need to find a zipper to use. Fun Fun.
