We took this trip the first part of June. We have a horse trailer with living quarters that we camp in. Hung my hammock at our campsite and slept out in it 9 out of 11 nights (there were thunderstorms the other 2 nights and lightning at 4500+ feet is a little freaky!!). We did 1 overnight horsepack to a primitive campsite about 6 miles from base camp. It was our first overnight camping experience with the hammocks. My husband insisted he didn't need insulation underneath him (that his sleeping bag would be just fine) and needless to say, he literally froze his butt off (temperature was probably around 35 degrees for a low). I had a cheap under quilt but it was my first time to use it and I hadn't quite got the hang of adjusting it. I had a decent night's sleep anyway. Nevertheless, I'm hooked on hammock camping! It's the only way to go!! Now to save up and purchase a Dutchware Chameleon and a decent under quilt. Hope you enjoy the video!
