Hurricane Irma recovery.

Glad to hear you are okay dog! We didn't get much damage. A few branches in the yard from neighbors trees. We decided to hunker down keeping an eye on that storm and bail at the last minute if the storm surge was going to be a real threat. Glad it was not. We still are out of power. Had to report back to work on Monday so I get some AC relief for a while. Wife is to report back today or Thurs. Power company is doing pretty good about getting power back on. Tuesday 70% of Pinellas County was without power and hear from co workers that they got turned back on.

We prepped real good for this adventure except I didn't check the generator we have soon enough. Still can't get it fired up and wished we stocked up on ice! One of my wife's co-workers gave us their ice since they had power.

Got the campstove set up and cooking from it and the grill. I feel lucky that storm finally broke up when it hit land! Direct hit on Pinellas would have devastated us.

Glad you're OK. emcee was directly under it while it was still packing a punch. Hope he fared well. Made my first trip out into the public today with my 2 YO G-daughter while Mimi was get her hair cut. What a bunch of DA's. Need to stay away from the rabble until they can get back on line and bury their heads in the nether world again. Some of them just don't understand reality can suck at times. OK maybe I'm finished bashing the DA's.

Heard from Emcee and he is ok but in recovery mode. He was in the direct path in south FL so without power and water.

I think he was as bummed out about having to cancel his BWCA canoe trip he had been planning the last year as he was with the cleanup process. Ragnall and I will be scouting it out next week for another try in 2018.

So glad he's OK! And I'm sorry the trip is off, I know you guys were all looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure my friend's FL Key's trip we've been training for will be off in Nov too.

After a scary night listening to the hurricane blow the kids ( and me) needed a little recovery time. Set up the hammocks in the backyard to enjoy the post storm breeze. Thankfully we didn't lose our hanging trees! Hope everyone made it out safely. If we don't get power back soon I may be sleeping out here for a while.

Olddog, I have been scared for you in the crosshairs of the eye. Glad to hear there was little damage. I lost at least 43 tabs just in the back part of my roof and almost as much from the 3 other sides up here in Volusia.
