    Which is better?

I'm about to embark on my first DIY hammock project. I'm building a 10.5 ft hammock.

    Question is...
    Which is better and why?
Sewn channel with continuous loop attached via larks head?
Sewn channel with continuous loop tied through channel?
    Sewn channel with whipped end?

All thoughts and opinions welcome. I'm leaning towards Sewn channel with continuous loop attached via larks head.

    Thanks..

For my DIY GE's I do a sewn channel with a zip tie through that channel to gather the ends. I then larks head a continuous loop, whoopie sling, soft shackle (whatever you prefer or need for he distance/suspension) to the end. I do this mainly because if I need to change out suspensions for a shorter hang I can do this easily without ungathering the ends.

I prefer sewn channel with continuous loops through the channel. Very consistent, reproducible and easy. More than strong enough. And you lose no length like you would with a larks head, granted it is a negligible amount of length. It does all come down to preference. You can always try all 3 and see what you prefer.

None is better than the others. It's a matter of taste. Try each version and stick with the one that suits you best.

Kind of a blonds, brunettes or redheads question really.

When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".

I like this approach. Why hadn't I come across the zip tie through the channel idea before?

I personally would not want a scratchy poky zip tie on my hammock snagging on fabric, but that's me...
    HYOH!!
