    Bug net height

I got the bug net sewed up and attached this weekend. As I was adjusting the support line I discovered that I cant sit up in the hammock with the bug net secured in place.

It seems like Ill want to be able to do that but having only spent a couple of nights in a hammock so Im not sure. Can you sit up in your hammock? Do you wish you could?

Being able to sit up is a real plus for me.

I spent most of my money on beer and women and hammocks.
    The rest I just wasted.

Being able to sit up in a hammock is nice. For the Speer Hammock it means adjusting the bugnet support line with a little extra slack. Putting a taut line hitch in the bugnet support line makes it very easy to adjust. The short length of shock cord in the support line helps prevent overtightening it.

Be aware that sitting up also raises your center of gravity, meaning you are closer to the 'turning turtle' point. If it feels tipsy, that's because it is tipsy, so watch your balance. Of course removing the bugnet & standing up on your knees or your feet would be unadvisable

How does adjusting the support line help? When I sit up, my head pushes the net up as far as it will go without undoing the velcro.

Yah, I put in a taught line instead of the truckers hitch suggested in the book; very easy to adjust. Though I would like another 6"-12" on the support line so the hitch is more toward the middle of the space instead if up in the corner above my head.
