    FL>LWRSF,Creekside> Nov.10-12

Are y'all ready to get the regular 2017-2018 season started?

We will be starting out with what was formerly known as Grinder's Birthday Hang. He request no gifts other than your presence around the fire. This year we will be hanging at Creekside, hopefully the water will be down, I'm sure it is underwater at this time. There should be plenty of firewood on the ground and per Jean the fire ring should have been replaced. This year there will be no need to leave money at the iron ranger. The reservations have been made thru Reserve America. If anyone new to the area will be coming in I can post up a map. Looking forward to gathering with old and new friends once again.

I keep missing this hang and I will try to make it this year. Put me down as probable. I will know when we get closer.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I'm going to go in to work tomorrow and request the time off for this one. My boss keeps taking Fridays off without checking with me if I can cover for him so if I can get this one on the books now it will help guarantee I can attend. I'm looking forward to helping Grinder ring in another trip around the sun! Do we (individuals) need to make a reservation as well or is the reservation already made? I'll chip in whatever is needed.

No, with this new system all is different. Everyone who shows up is one of five people allowed and every vehicle is one of the two vehicles allowed. Clear as mud. Right? All will be explained around the campfire. You just don't have to leave funds in the envelope at the kiosk.

Hey olddog, where is this hang? Is this part of Lake Wales Ridge State Forest? I've got a reservation for another park the week after this one, but I might cancel that one and join you fine ladies and gentlemen instead. Let me check the work calendar, but for now I'll be a solid maybe! Would love to meet some of you! -- deckster (formerly dweckster. deckster is easier to say.)

Yes it is deckster. It is in the Arbuckle Tract. I'll post some additional info up if I can find it.Arbuckle Parking.jpgCreekside Trails.jpg

The second photo is the various routes in to the campsite. The yellow is the scenic route along the creek and blazed orange. Blue is the straightest and maybe the shortest but also harder with the sugar sand blazed blue I believe. Red is an unblazed 2 track, possibly the shortest. All meet at the short trail into Creekside. I'll be looking forward to meeting in the woods.

Didn't talk to anyone at the office Rick. The reservations were made online thru ReserveAmerica. As dry as we've been the last couple of weeks and if it continues there shouldn't be any problems.
