    Spindrift under Cloudburst

Can the top of the Spindrift be suspended from the little rings on the underside of the Cloudburst?

I would contact Warbonnet for that question.

I clip my bugnet on those rings all the time, I don't see why you couldn't connect the spindrift. I think it's the whole reason the rings are there.

Exactly. I figured that is why they are there. It was designed to all work together.

Just a word about those rings...I once had some water drip/wick from the ridge line at the rings when I attached the bugnet too tightly there. 8years using Warbonnet tarps has shown me their ridgelines never leak or need sealing, so I was surprised. After the storm, I realized i had really cranked the shock cord line and was actually pulling the ridgeline down at that point, hence the leakage. Since then I have always been careful to leave a wee bit of slack in the line and had no problems. Might be a consideration for the Spindrift when you attach it.

Yes. There are corresponding rings on the spindrift.

Sturgeon, those rings need to be seam sealed. That happens with every cloudburst I own.

Afaik the little rings are for attaching the door kit to the CB, not for clipping in other stuff - although many people seem to use them for other purposes. If I remember correctly, newer WB tarps don't have the rings anymore because it turned out that apparently the door kit works just as well without them.

Happy to hear I'm not the only one. Yeah, I'm going to seal them up. So far they have only leaked that one time, despite several storms since then, but I'm planning to get a spindrift and a 0*F Lynx or Ambush sometime this fall and start some late fall (if not winter) camping, so I might as well start sealing while the weather is good (massive heat wave here in Toronto right now).

hutzelbein, I think we're talking about the other little rings that are further inside the tarp, used to suspend the bug net of the ridge runner.

They did get rid of the door rings. And I was pretty disappointed as attaching and removing the door kit requires a little more effort. We're talking about the ridgeline rings, though.
