I have HG Phoenix & Burrow in 30 deg. I was thinking with some reflectix between layers of BB XLC, and a sleeping bag liner of some sort, I may be ok. But I am also looking at HG Incubator and Burrow Econ at 0 deg. Just want to make sure the winter hang is for me. I always sleep better cold than hot, use no heat in my bedroom.
Any thoughts?
I think you will be alright with the 30s and a fleece blanket/liner depending on the temps..
The parking lot is a quick 10 min walk back from the camping area, so if you have extra blankets that didn't make it on the first trip they are very easy to grab on the 2nd trip.
Last year i had 20* bags , and slept on a wool blanket to prevent the cold spots on my back and used a a small fleece blanket underneath my top quilt and slept in my puffy jacket very comfortably.
I almost cant highlight enough how easy it was to go back to the car to grab more gear if needed, over pack your car and glorify your setup!
I agree with Keroca, the cars aren't very far and the trail should be easy to follow with all our traffic. It's been in the 20's and snowy for weeks here in Erie but I haven't had a chance to get out and sleep hopefully I can test my LLG UQ this week!

I pulled the trigger on a winter set of quilts. I'm really looking forward to this, and just want to have the right gear. I ordered the Burrow and Incubator Econ in 0*. I know they'll get used for my spring trout fishing in ADK early season. Very much looking forward to meeting new friends and learning / seeing new set up's, and ideas.
Did the big snow in Erie reach to this trail? Just curious....
Someone more local than me might know better, but I typically check the snow depth NWS map: This one is for the Warren area
- Looks like they have 2-4" and 4-8" in slightly higher elevations.
If the roads are clear, I hope to make this hang. And if the roads are not clear, I'd love to hitchhike (& provide gas money) with anyone with a 4WD vehicle is coming from the west/north who could stop in Jamestown.
I’m in Ridgway and I think we got about 4-5”. The Bradford Era reported they got 6-8”.

I'm hoping to test out my new gear that I got for Christmas at this hang. Hopefully it won't be in the negatives like it is right now
