    DIY 1.2 Robic

Been years and years since I made a hammock. A decade wiser and the results show. Got my hands on some 1.2 robic xl and made myself a netless 11.5' with some knotty mods, 116" Ridgeline. The fabric is superb, feels fantastic with just a very slight stretch. Whole thing comes in at 10.5 oz. Can't wait to get it out in the wild.

Work with your hands, use your brain, drink good beer.

I recently built a 1.2 hammock. It's gonna be my ultralight backcountry only hammock as I have had a couple 1.0 hammocks fail for my family and me. Hoping this one fares better and believe it will. The little bit of experience I have with it, so far, is good. It feels nice and is very comfortable, albeit a bit bit stretchier than I prefer. Not unacceptably stretchy, just not as stiff as I really like. It's a nice fabric, for sure and easy to work with. Enjoy it!

For me I really like a decent amount of stretch. Hammocks that don't have any give make me nervous. I feel like they're going to burst at any second. I run about 205, the 1.0 fabric for a single layer would definitely be pushing the limits.
