I've had the 3 season lynx down to the teens comfortably.

I also really like the idea of the Spindrift, which would also help in the colder weather. I'd love to hear your thoughts since you've had the 3-season and winter versions.
I think if most of your trips will be above 10*, the 3 season supplemented by ccf and layers should be adequate. The 0* is a poofy thing of beauty, but would probably be overkill for warmer temps. I need to buy another one...

I disagree but I'm a cold sleeper. I simply do not nor would not want to take a chance in these temps so below 32° I take my Winter Lynx. I always use a "10° above my quilts rating" as a rule of thumb and I've never needed any alternative insulation nor have I slept cold at night. It's better to have the warmth and not need it as apposed to needing it and not having it.

    In praise of the RidgeRunner!

I really love my ridge runner. It’s so different. I’ve been super happy with my exped pad. I have used a 3/4 quilts rated to 40°. No problem. My jacks r better 3/4 quilts was too heavy and wide. It was rated at 5°. My hammock gear 20° seemed to fit real decent. I was curious if others had good experience with underquilts which were made by other vendors. I wanted a quilt that wasn’t so hammock specific. Beings I have several hammocks and don’t like the specific thing as much. It’s why I’m still using pads. I was thinking of. 30° quilt which was made by a company. I know the specific ones would be better, but, do those others work for you?

Yeah I think it just depends on your operating temperature. I think I run at an average temp, and I've had the 3S in the teens with just a thin base layer and have been plenty warm. As was stated earlier, the quilts are conservatively rated.

Same here. If I'm heading under 30* I prefer more insulation than my 3 season Lynx. More topquilt too.
