Hi! I've been lurking for a couple of months now, but am looking forward to getting into hammock camping! I have not done any overnights yet, but I just finished putting together a 11'9" hammock and bugnet with material from rsbtr. I tested out my first hang this weekend and it felt great! I am working on building a hex tarp now, and waiting for an UQ to be delivered. I hope to do my first hammock camping trip near the beginning of December. Wish me luck!

Check out the group hang in Batesville, Ms the first weekend in Dec. - you'll learn plenty, meet nice people and eat well.
Depending on which side of Ms, you might even consider the AL, Sipsey hang in November.

Thanks! I'm definitely considering both of those. I'm 2 hours from both of those hangs. I don't think I'll have my UQ by then, and I don't want to freeze, so I might have to wait until the next one.
