I agree, but my intention was pointing out the connector was not adequate for any side/twisting forces and that extending the length of the connector would work better.

I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone might be able to answer for me:

Does this still function correctly on non level ground? By that I mean on a slight slope.

How does it hold up when it rains a lot and the ground underneath begins to soften?

Re: ground softening. It works on sand, so I don't think that is and issue. If you are worried then just put something under the feet - but that should not be needed.

Noted in the commercial thread, but applies just as well to DIY versions: 18 poles makes a 6-person stand. That’s 4.5 regular tensahedrons sharing a foot-end pole. 4 stands will hang 5 people this way. Went together easy:
