    Ripstopbytheroll Winter12 Tarp

I purchased the Winter 12 precut tarp kit as I have very little sewing experience and even less time to have the tarp finished for a camping trip. They no longer send the hyperd blank to cut your own reinforcement patches out of, and instead send patches. Has anyone built this before that would be able to help?? I have 14 patches and none are triangles.

I am not sure what they sent you but it should be fairly straightforward to cut what you need.

    This may help.

The small triangles are 3”, the squares are 3”, and the semicircles have a radius of 3”.
I purchased this tarp after watching your videos, stitching along with the ridge line video.

The triangles must be for the bottoms of the doors. The arcs must be for the tie-outs and ridgeline. The rectangles must be for pull outs.

I’d sew them on first and them trim them.

Having those precut will save you some time. The radius type reinforcements seem to pull the tarp tight. Roll with it! Good luck. You've got the ultimate resource in Jellyfish

How far away from the edge would you position the radius? I’m sorry, I am able to perfectly understand how Jellyfish did her tarp as I was able to watch along. This is entirely new to me,

Should I line up the tip and do the horizontal 1” seams, then trim the edge? Or do I need to sew along the radius and try to fold it over and then line up the tips?

I would roll the raw edge into the double-rolled hem of the tarp. With small patches, there is less margin for error if it is crooked.

Try one and see how it goes. By the fourth one you should climb the learning curve.
