Well Mr Crow, let me first say that you can drop the last names and just call me warm.

But seriously, thank you for the information. It seems that there are a number of factors to be considered. At the very least I can make a makeshift second layer for some sort of foam underpad.

One thing to try is to grip the fabric between first finger and thumb of each hand and vigorously work the fabric back and forth. Then look to see if any of the threads have worked open a little or hold it up to a light and see if you can see pinholes of light. If so, I wouldn't trust it to be down proof.

    Verdict

Well, I received my samples of fabric today. After looking over the woodland camo I have come to the same conclusion as Mr. Littlefield. The fabric breathes too much. I feel that if one were to make a quilt out of it, either a top or bottom quilt, too much warm air would escape. This is, of course, just my opinion.

Other uses for such a fabric might be a hammock or hammock sock. Maybe some stuff sacks. Heck if someone were ambitions enough maybe they cold apply some kind of water proofing to it to make a tarp or something....I dont know.

I am as disappointed as you guys are. I was hoping to bring it into my color choices for The Perfect Trees. My search continues.

    Thanks stormcrow for the opinion.

sclittlefield, I'd like to reduce my request to 4 from 20. Big drop I know, but I can do a lot with 4 yards.

Thanks Stormcrow. That was my feeling as well - I wouldn't trust it for down. Double layer hammocks, socks, overcovers, synthetic quilts, stuff sacks, make your own sil projects... etc.

Here's what we'll do. I'm going to move the list over to the Group Buy forum. That should get a bit more traffic than this little "Other Vendors" subforum.

Please post (in group buy forum) if you want your amount changed, up or down, and I'll let it run for a while to get a realistic order amount.
