Savage Gulf - Stagecoach Road Campground question.

Any of you guys ever camped at Stagecoach campground at Savage Gulf? I'll trying to see if the sites at the camp ground are hammock friendly.

Yes, I've stayed at Sawmill several times and it's very hammock friendly. I want to do the Savage ranger station to Hobbs Cabin, to Stagecoach back to ranger station loop this weekend and I'm not sure about the hang-ability of the StageCoach camp ground.

Hammock friendly! On ftroop's group hang a couple years ago there were probably 25 hammocks hanging at that camp. You will be ready for the hammock after hiking down the rock garden from Hobbs and back up Stagecoach

Well is a relative term. I wasn't in shape enough to tackle that gulf after hiking out to Hobbs on Thursday. The hike out to Hobbs was nice and I had the entire campground to myself on Thursday night but I haven't been out enough on the trail this fall so I was a bit sore on Friday morning. Add to this the fact that either something I ate or drank gave me an upset stomach. So I decided to hike back out on Friday. That 17 miles in two days was tough for me but I made it home only to get more sick and the wife is sick so it must be something she brought home from school. Been on the couch for two days with nothing to eat. Hopefully this passes soon. Thanks for asking.
