I just made a hammock with 1.6 HyperD, and I hope dutch doesn't see this, but I couldn't say that which I like more between Hexon and HyperD. Either way, 1.6 HyperD is an awesome fabric that you will love.

I really like the 1.6oz HyperD and it continues to be my favorite fabric. It does a great job with my 260lbs and provides me with a very supportive lay with just a bit of felt stretch.

gets my vote also. I had hammock made out of nylonD, hexon, argon and whatever ENOs and grand truck hammocks are made out of and the HyperD is my all time favorite out of the material I have tried. I didn't really like the hexon or the argon, didn't like the feel of hexon and the argon may have had too much stretch for me

Add me to the list for 1.6 Hyper D
That is what I just ordered for inside layer of my new 2 layer Thunderbird.

    I'll buck the system... I'm 175lbs and prefer the 2.2 Hex70.

Love the Hyper d 1.6. Both of my current dream hammocks are made out of it. Great feel. I'm 6'2" and 220lbs. I also have to say that I own a couple of Dutch's in his hexon 1.6 and really like the feel of that material also. Can't go wrong with either.

If it helps anyone, I am very satisfied with the 1.7oz Robic XL fabric on my single-layer hammock. I'm 200lbs and I don't perceive any stretching. It is not as soft as the HyperD but it's not rough either. I find it comfortable. Maybe the fabric contributes slightly to keep me from sliding around in the hammock if I have failed to position the foot-end high enough relative to the head-end.

As for width, I'm 5 foot 9 like you and I went with 62 inches. It's working well for me. I can lay diagonally in great comfort and not have any fabric flap or get in my face. In the field, I have had no need to use the hammock tie-outs to pull the fabric away. My body positioning does that.

    I had to Google 83kg.

If any of you are wondering, it's 13 stone.

Just joking with ya'll. 183lb. My vote is also 1.6 hyper D.

I ordered a HyperD hammock after seeing it recommended over and over again. I like it well enough. I’m crazy about Robic and have tried most Robics.

Feel and see the material and colors of fabrics by ordering samples from this direct link: https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collections/samples
