You're an ambitious fella, aren't you? You could ski the Twinway slide or off West Bond. Getting to those points with skis might be a challenge from below. Owl's Head would be a 15ish mile roundtrip from the pond.

A trip with a group of campers to Owls head sounds fun. Im not sure I can pull a weekend off because of work and I have a weekend trip with a group the weekend of the 17th, but I could do a night for sure.

Where do we stand on this trip? What weekend and where. There were a few ideas thrown out I just want to make sure I have the correct information.

As of right now it's looking like the weekend of the 24th. As for the exact location i'm not sure if anyone actually made a final choice. If i was 100% positive on coming up i would make the trip to bear pond.

We might ping you for more info on your last trip to bear pond. Boyscout and I are going to discuss this in more detail in the next few days. Looks like an early start on the 23rd (option of Hostel night before), looking at bear pond and whats nearby for day trips.

If you crawl up the slide you can get to the Bond's but that would be pretty tough I think in the snow.

That's tough in normal conditions. The bottom of the slide is like walking on a game of pick up sticks and the woods all around it are super dense. It took me 3 hours just to walk around the pond and up to the middle of the slide. IMG_20170522_102222_938.jpg

Yeah I dont recommend going up the slide in winter. I went up that slide all the way to the twinway trail. I had a blast doing it but it is not easy by any means and that was in July.

Were thinking about 13 falls the first night and then summit of Garfield for a day hike. Any feedback on these changes from people interested in this trip?
