Excellent resource, tons and tons of information.... received my on April 2nd 2018.

I just got my paperback version over the weekend (gift from my wonderful wife!) I'm probably only about a quarter of the way through it right now. Overall I really like the size (I think the bigger size helps it stay open and my cover feels 'softer' than the first ed. aiding in that) and how much more in depth it feels. So far I'd say if the first edition is a great resource and guide (i.e. good foundation) then this second edition repackages that previous info (in a great way) and just takes it to another level (think Introduction to Hammock Camping 101 for 1st edition and this is now at least Advanced Hammock Camping 301). I've noticed more explanation and nitty gritty information while still touching on a lot of the foundation information so it doesn't seem overwhelming. It also seems to expand much more on things like LNT and camping in general. And of course - excellent illustrations. Well done Derek! I'm looking forward to completing!

I definitely have to order this! I learned a ton from the first edition and will have to get moving on an order for the 2nd edition! Thanks everyone for the reviews!!

So, the question a lot of people are asking is, “If I already have the first edition, is there enough new information to justify buying the second edition?” Let me put it this way, “Yes!”

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to say thanks for doing a review of this book. I own the first edition and didn't know if the 2nd edition would really be worth it, your comparison makes it quite clear that the update is much more substantial than the original.
