    hello from the ozarks

Hi hammock forums. I live in the ozarks, mainly nwa. Absolutely diggin the plethora of info on here. I hope to be answering questions too.

But before i do i have a few questions myself. On ebay, who are the whoopie sling kings? I asked one seller "how deep are your buries?" no reply in a week.

Not trying to save money just want the best. Any help much appreciated.

Btw my setup is a 10x5.5 parachute hammock w/ simple 550 knots. Homemade down 3/4 underquilt. Weighing just over 2.5 lbs.

Hello and welcome from Marietta GA.

If you contact a vendor and they don't respond in a reasonable amount of time, I'd move on to the next one.

For whoopies, three quality vendors come to mind in no particular order...

    https://dutchwaregear.com/amsteel-whoopie-slings.html

I'm sure there are others, maybe someone else will chime in.

    Good luck and happy hanging!

Welcome from North Central Arkansas and Woo Pig Sooie! I agree with johnspenn here, check out the cottage vendors, you won't be disappointed in their products, and customer service is amazing!

WPS. I lived in Fayetteville for awhile. I love that area. NWA is the ONLY beautiful park of Arkansas. The rest of it is flat and boring. Welcome to the community.

Welcome! I have to admit, I am envious of your location. NWA is where I want to move! Ripstop by the Roll also sells whoopie slings, if I'm not mistaken. Also, they are incredibly easy to make, if you just purchase a 25' length of Amsteel.

Welcome to the community! I'm from Mountain View originally now live in North Carolina I miss the land and the people of the Ozarks anyhow glad to see another from the Ozarks on the forum. Order some 7/64 Amsteel, watch a YouTube then voila homemade satisfaction. I now can make 2 in less that 30min while watching others hiking trips on YouTube or listening to the radio. You can make the bury 9" - 12" or anywhere in between. I've settled in on 10" which works good for me. Good luck, check out Dutchware Gear and RSBTR.

Welcome Lunarcanine! Our area of the Ozarks has a lot to offer. The best way to enjoy the Ozarks is to actually get outside as often as possible.
