Yep, same here. I'm hoping that the single layer + UQP will give me the best of both worlds, the lightness of a SL + UQ + UWP when I'm going to hang all the time, and the versatility of SL + Pad + UQP when I want to use a pad because I know I'll need to go to ground etc. From what I've researched, and read etc., it seems like it should work, and I will find out for myself how much I like each system.

    Glad you order is underway.

If you attach the warbonnet underquilt protector to the top cover or bug net using the zipper, how do you attach the underquilt? I assume there is a small channel at each end that allows the underquilt carabiner to fit through and attach?

You should ask that in the Warbonnet section! Someone there will know that I'm sure.

I have the old version of the XLC but I'm certainly curious about the new one! I may just have to upgrade at some point.

I’ve got mine, I’m so excite about, but I still haven’t had the chance to test this out. Looking at it, it becomes like a sock, so (IIUC) you attack the Wookie to the hammock as per normal and then the WB UQP and Bug Net or Top Cover sock combo surrounds the whole thing and it should all fit fine. The sock combo is sort of equivalent to a 360 bugnet in terms of 3D shape and “attachment” to hammock.

For other UQs (not Wookies) I think you’d have the space to be able to clip it to the CL and the ends etc. and the UQP and top will just cover over this.

I only have wookies, when I set them up I’ll take photos and post them. I am planning to not use the Wookies at first until I know what i am doing, as I don’t want to get them wet or damaged. Not that i want any of my other gear damaged either. Also I want to experience sleeping pads, to have a comparison to UQ.

Update, it came today!! So do I just slap some mini biners on the loops and clip it to my ridgeline suspension past the gathered ends! Then adjust as needed?

I clip mine to the UQ biners provided by JRB.

also if you use a Dutch Biners and whoopies they are a good place to attach the UQP.

Good call! I'll clip one end to the stock Wooki biner and I'll add one for the other end.
