My top 3 purchases for 2017:

3.) Merino wool buff. First buff I've owned/used, and now I wonder how I did without it. I can see this replacing at least one or 2 pieces of headwear in my kit.

2.) HG Econ 20 Burrow TQ (my most recently acquired item). I can't wait to get out and give this a proper test hang.

1.) Dutchware Chameleon with the Beetle Buckle suspension. Coming from a GT SBP, I didn't know what a flat lay was until I got into this hammock. Total night & day difference.

I typically subscribe to the "buy once, cry once" motto, but ever since launching into hammock life (almost every night since Jan '17), I've been crying all year and haven't stopped smiling either. It's been a good year for everything: 3 hammocks, 6 quilts, 1 backpack, 1 hammock stand - and lots of other goodies. Is there an HH group (Hammocks Hanonymous)?

If it is above 80 degrees and buggy...you have to keep your legs covered--I compensated by having no underquilt and got cooling from underneath and that worked really well. I find the half-wit is easier to get opened up while still in the hammock, and then if in the middle of the night, I notice bugs, I can just with one arm close down and fall back asleep.
Thanks for the great advice. I pulled the trigger and I hope I can balance out the bugginess vs. mugginess ratio.
