The Maine Island Trail is awesome and I could see the need for a stand on some of the islands. The only part I don't like is the requirement to carry out your waste. I will do it, but this trip and most of the others I have planned include privies

I wound up tethering to a tree instead which worked fine of course, but limits my flexibility of hanging locations. Does anyone know of a stake/screw that might work better and still handle enough weight (half of my 250#)?
Dry packed gravel Also means trouble! I use the Tensa4 at campsites where tree straps aren’t allowed. Looks ridiculous to me, at least, to see a stand set up between two perfectly spaced trees. But it happens.

This past weekend I used the stand at a site with hard packed gravel on their tent pad. The orange screw held for the first night and some slack time the next day. But the foot popped out not long after getting in the hammock the second night. Fortunately I use the new tarp pole rig and the tarp guy stakes in the same soil were enough to prevent a “full taco.”

I reset the orange screw and slept fine the rest of the night. The ground was deceiving, as the screws went in tight. Just need to watch closer from now on.

So I continue having problems with a spring clip occasionally dislodging and ending up on the ground. Good thing my wife spotted it on the lawn after a yard test or I would have had an unwelcome surprise the next camping trip. I have an early Tensa4 before all of the improvements. There was a post somewhere about drilling a hole for the button which helps keep the clip in during storage. I cannot find it. As I recall, it did not give the hole size or location anyway. I think you said to ship the poles back and you would drill them. I can drill just fine, just need the hole size and locations. Was I dreaming or could you provide a photo and hole size and locations.

BTW, maybe I should order some extra spring clips in case one makes a sneaky getaway when I am not looking

Please email us at [email protected] for service, transactional stuff. Could use a photo or two of your stand so we know which production: changes are continuous.

    Setup help needed
I have used the stand multiple times before with great seat height and comfort
No bar touching, but that was on a platform and once on level ground

Today I can't it get off the ground
Tried 2 different spots and results getting worse
I will be sleeping in my chair at this rate
    Any ideas
I used the same measurements as before
    134" ridge
    74" base
But I am 2" off of ground

The baseline looks perhaps a little wide. Maybe shorten it a foot or so.

Can't quite make out what you're using for hammock suspension, but perhaps shorten it a few inches too. Wrap continuous loops one extra wrap around poles, or a few times through the biners. Or if those are straps and buckles, cinch them up an inch or two per side.

Is the pair of feet that's on the slab a few inches higher than the feet in the grass?

    I'm set for the night
    Thanks guyz
    Don't know why I struggle so.much
    I am at 70" base
    128" ridge
These measurements were taken from pole to pole
    And head suspension 10"
    And feet like 7"
I use cinch bugs on 18" of strap with a loop.on end
Bar is a little close, but my butts not dragging

Just had a Rabbit jump out and run under stand
    This thing rocks.

    So
Should I be able to keep whatever #'s work best for me and use that from platform to uneven campsites?
I have both types of your suspension
I find I use the non webbing version always
But have the toggles in the bag with binners and such
But I will keep the Ridgeline non webbing for better views

Same numbers should work regardless of site. Tilt is then only variable. It is important to assure that feet are level with each other, so on a slope point head or foot downslope (i prefer head upslope).

    Slept beautifully
    Thanks all
Now what roll does the tilt play into this?
My hammock ridge line is pretty taught, but allot of times that's how I set it trees or not
I was figuring the only way to gain extra ground clearance was to lengthen the Ridgeline
Also I am huge 275 lbs and 6'
Soni am sure I get a little more sag in my hammock then most

I might just play around with the other type of hardware(buckles + toggle system today)

Increasing tilt increases ridgeline tension. Also improves foot clearance. But if you’re low and your ridgeline tension is high, shorten hammock suspension. Will raise you up and lessen tension.
