    V2 arrived today.

    This is what I did:

Lots to play with, something came up so I didn't get to perfect it. I also wonder if the single joining leg will be enough strength even though both of us together are well under the 400lb for a single stand. Dynamically, will this be too much?

I see a tarp challenge coming up...

Woohoo! You, sir/lady, rock. Yes the capacity is going to be below double (800lbs). But now there are 3 struts bearing the foot-end load instead of 2, so I'm confident you're good under 400lbs. Please watch for deflection on that shared strut as second person gets in, in case I'm way off.

No. First, the requirements aren’t unusual enough to merit that. Any 11’ tarp works great, and longer ones work fine with a little ingenuity. That said, Dynamystic’s DynaFly looks like it was made for the stand. Mr. DynaFly visited recently to show me whIle passing through Portland. We ended up trading wares, one of his preproduction flies for the one and only v2 Tensa4 then in my possession.

DynaFly has a diamond-shaped top panel that mirrors the stand shape, its center pole echoing the baseline. The other panels similarly seem to hug and complement the stand’s shape.

My new v2 arrived today but I flew out on business trip before USPS did. Oh well five nights in version one. Just set up the Tensa 4 v1 in my hotel room.

Question how much force/weight is put on the foot end tether? I ask as I tethered to the bed frame and I am letting that corner of the bed frame up a couple of inches.

It depends. The stand is very much like a fulcrum scale or teeter-totter/see-saw where the foot end pulls up by the same force bearing down on the head end, which is all about how far headward of the fulcrum (baseline) your weight is centered. Shift footward and the guyline tension approaches zero: the taco point.

If you set up on top of the bed, it’s not gonna lift ;-). Most times i’ve set up in hotels i’ve anchored to a door hinge pin.
