Hello, and welcome from Melbourne Florida!
Howdy, from Concord.
Welcome J. Hawk to the hammock Community. I started with a amazon ordered hammock (Grand Trunk) and a Northern Tools blue tarp. I studied and learned a bunch from here but really got educated while attending group hangs. Even if you just drop by during the day and don't camp it's well worth it. Here's a link to one coming up March 8-11 not to far from Raleigh over in the Uwharries (Yates Place) and a good group of people go to this one. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...arch-8-9-10-11
Enjoy and hope to meet ya in the trees!

Howdy Neighbor! The upgrades never end....so just enjoy it!
Welcome from Garner. A friend told me something about 35 years ago that I have put to practice a few times since. He said if you are buying something you want and it is something you don't need don't go low end. So when another friend said we should look into hammock camping we looked for quality We did not know about Hammock Forum so it was a goggle search. I settled on a HH deep jungle XL. My first night in the woods I slept for 12 hours.Since a few years of group hangs and much hammock forum reading I have much more stuff but I find a $12.00 table cloth hammock is hard to beat for comfort. So you don't always have to spend a lot to enjoy a comfortable hang.
You must come to the Yates Place hang in March. It is the week end of the "spring forward" time change to day light saving time.
Hello from Wendell, NC!!!
There is a group hang coming up Easter weekend not too far from you. Consider joining us for the weekend...or one night or just a day visit to check it out!
