Cost: $2.75 x yardage + shipping rate (explained below - I want to make this quick and easy)
Shipping Rates (in US): These rates are less than actual cost, but it's a real hassle trying to figure everyone's specific zone so I'll eat difference just to save time. The change is at 12yds because that's about the amount I can fit before the weight bumps the shipping cost up to the next level.
1-12yds: $6.00
12+ yds: $8.00
Australia: $12.00
Example: stickboy ordered 10yds. That'll be $2.75x10=27.50+6.00shipping=$33.50.

actually there are varying grades of fabric, even in ripstop- it is the tightness of the weave that hinders the down's escape attempts- if the fabric is fairly firm and the threads interlock closely it will be more resistant to down 'stems' poking through, and will better prevent the feathered parts from squeezin through the hole the stem (i have trouble callin it a quill) has made.
so even if a fabric had a small dernier rating, there will be more threads per inch for it to equally resist down escapes than a fabric of higher d-rating, which is tightly packed, but will still have fewer threads per inch due to the larger size of each thread.
Hope that is slightly clearer than mud! KM
