Didn't get wet at all. I got lucky and found a spot to hang that had decent protection. The rain started at night and ended around 9 am or so. Was a perfect excuse to sleep in and drink coffee from the hammock. After 9 am or so, it didn't rain at all really for the rest of the trail. Biggest issue was slippery and wet leaves. Trekking poles were a big help.

Good to know. Do people ever bring kids? I have a 2 year old son that I'm trying to get into camping. Usually bring a tent for him and zip him up in there when it's bed time.

Just grab you one of the ovens from Camp Chef.... https://www.campchef.com/artisan-piz...accessory.html

I think Meat Balls, sauce and pasta sounds easier to cook at Yates unless you have one of those kind of ovens....

Hum - But what about garlic toast ? Oh well, back to the oven hahaha lol

Some kids hammock and some kids tent and some brave souls pitch one hammock above the other and save a tarp.
Lacey is bringing TallPaul and Lacey can smell our way back to camp even if the phone navigation conks out

I’m going to bring chow for breakfasts Friday Saturday Sunday and will be needing help cooking—
All other meals are on your own except Saturday night—Italian night
Cook your own and or share with others or trade—it’s up to you to make your plans by communicating back and forth with others. Some might want Chinese or Barbecue or anything

We typically have a handful of kids running around. Some sleep in tents, some in hammocks, some just come for the day. If he wants to try hammocks for the first time, I've got spare gear you're welcome to try out. Word of warning though, it can get kind of loud around the campfire at night, so if your son is a light sleeper, I'd recommend setting up your camp away from the main fire pit (I always try to)

Thanks Mooseman, I think I’ll frying pan cook pizza toppings and put them on English muffin or taco or wrap or a precooked pizza shell

Dave, I think the first one was in January of 2010. It was organized by NC Patrick (former moderator).

I've done "Pita Pizzas" on many a camping trip: Cut a pita in half, stuff with pizza toppings, fry in frying pan until cheese melts. They usually end up pretty delicious, and very easy.
