Power trolling, with exceptionally tasty bait. I felt this needed a bump as we get into cooler weather.

Where I was set up last weekend, I didn't even need the embers of a dying fire.

"I hang over the dying fire", love it! That would be a great song/album name...

Great country song. The obvious mention of a pickup truck, "how my baby left me", whiskey, sad and lonely on a cold night...I hang over a dying fire.

Very reminiscent of the last verse of "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" by David Allen Coe.

Thanks for bringing this one back to life! This is a classic thread and sets a new high bar for the craft of trolling .

And, we all played along with it...

I hang over the dying fire

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time

But seriously Iíve heard of people placing hot rocks from a campfire under the hammock. That could be something. Still warm near dawn when you need it most? I doubt it.
