I'm miffed about the weather. I was hoping to get away with not bringing a top quilt.

I will most likely start heading towards camp around 12 from Camp Tejas. 6.5 miles, about a 3 hour deal, maybe 4. If we start earlier, it gives us more time to chill, or do extra hiking once at camp.

If there needs to be a separate trip in the near future, I can be convinced. I am on the road down south!

Hey Billy02! It's a great trail in the cooler months but a scorcher this time of year.

This event, (catered, slackpacking, supported hike), will most likely happen again next spring so be on the look out.

So, any chance that this is happening again this year? I certainly don't mind doing an unsupported hike with like minded hangers if we don't have a generous and boat-endowed sponsor like Rat

Yup yup, at a minimum, maybe see if we can reserve the park for night 2. Both nights, you can drive in support if someone wants to volunteer to carry food.

I don't think I made the reservations yet, I'll look tonight and post some dates. I'll start a new thread for this year.

    It is definitely on though!

It's a fun event and if the dates work, I'll be glad to help again. I'm already booked for the Goose Island Spring Hang April 5-7 and a Dutch oven cooking demo at Fairfield on April 13, the second Saturday, but if it's later, the odds are good I'll be there with coffee pot and cast iron. Don't plan around me but if the stars align, I'm there.
