1/2 way point today. Tons of people got to the Sierras when I did and skipped up. I wanted no part in this and made it through safely to move on to the northern section.

I was comparing the weights of a few items. It seems they both end up to be very similar. With a dutch hammock and a warbonnet yeti quilt, you might be ahead of the game by a small margin (2-3 ounces??).

For a thruhike or an injured person like me, it might be worthwhile. Definitely something to bear in mind before I pull the trigger on the next sale that I come across.

If you get hexon 1.0 you save weight and you can get 950 down from hammock gear that also saves some weight over other quilts with 850.

The 950-fill numbers aren't posted so I couldn't compare. The yeti is light since it seems to be designed for one lay direction only; I think it bested the 850-fill incubator by 3.5oz at similar prices.

You have to custom order 950 so they don't really have standard numbers. If you want light look at the 3/4 length. That's what I have and it works great. I've ordered a small fortune worth of quilts( 1 top quilt and 3 under quilts) from hammock gear and enjoy them as well as their excellent customer service.

Section J update Sonora Pass to Echo Lake. Hanging 100% of the time I've been on trail since mile 700 when not in town.

I'm still on the fence regarding comfort of a foam foot pad within a hammock. Even my air pad is deflated by 30-50% to achieve desired comfort on the bridge hammock. I haven't tried it on the gathered-end hammock yet..

Yeah it's not the most comfy but I use the pad that also is part of my backpack so it's multiuse. In Shugs videos he had a tiny blow up pad he uses for his feet, I may experiment with that one day. I love my underquilt. I tried to go the blow and foam pad route and they just don't work for me.

I had never considered an air sit pad as a foot pad. There might be a 40° 3/4 underquilt in my future after all.
