Question Strange Question about HG 20* Burrow

Just did an overnight hang with my 20* Burrow TQ Green outer and Black inner. However, sometime during the night (old age pee schedule) the TQ got inverted, Green inner and Black outer. Didn’t realize until morning light when I had to switch it back when packing up. No biggie, stayed warm like always, just wondered if there is that much difference and if any issues would occur if this happened again. I believe that the Outer fabric was 20D versusa lighter 10D inner? Appreciate anyone’s insight into this.

If you have a differential cut then it probably is far from ideal but unless you are pushing limits its hardly a big deal. I wouldn't worry about the wear since some people build their entire quilts out of the 10D inner material. Western Mountaineering is thinking about using a 7D outer for their new quilts.

Sometimes when I get up in a 3 AM sleepy state and pull my feet out, it half pulls the foot box inside out. I think it is just moving around and my socks getting "attached" to the TQ. I've had to also "untwist" the TQ as the foot box has rotated a quarter turn. Which can also cause it to pop inside out. In sleepy state, I think you might have just tossed it off, then got in and it was 75 percent inside out due to above type things.
    Yeah, no biggie at all.

If you remained warm, yep, no big deal.

If really pushing the temperature rating, however, you will likely begin to feel the cold if the head and foot draft tubes are not properly positioned, or if the head and/or foot (especially foot, in my experience) bungee draw cords are not just right.

I've got a bunch of stuff (jackets, quilts, etc) made with 10D and with reasonable care it is plenny-nuff durable for our purposes.

And I drool at the prospect of a 950FP quilt made with 7D!

"foot draft tubes" on a HG Burrow TQ? I've been missing this option when placing my orders.

That 7D...the one reason I've never pulled the trigger on a Montbell Mirage. That just seems crazy light.

Definitely not for those who are hard on gear!

However I have a MB extra light down jacket made of 7D and it is fine. Stuffs down very small and weighs 5.65 oz.

According to a post on their FB page, RSBTR is working on a 5D. I WILL have that on the inside of a quilt if it comes to market.
