    FL>Miami>23 feb - 4 march > general tourism advice

Hey Floridians (if that´s the proper term for Florida residents?)

Not really strictly hammock related, but I thought I´d ask for some general info for our coming family vacation to Miami. We are a Swedish family of four, two kids age 9 and 11, that all enjoy hammocking. We plan to visit Kennedy Space Center over a couple of days. The rest of the time will be spent in Miami.
I´m looking for any general tourism advice for that area and time of year? Places to visit, both scenic and interesting such as museums etc, outdoorsy shops that perhaps carry good hiking/hammocking equipment?

Things not to do, areas or places to steer clear of? We´re staying with friends in the Brickell area (don´t have the exact adress in my head).

I live in central Florida and if you are coming to the KSC and the parks, either Disney or universal make sure you visit Shingle Creek Park where you can rent kayaks

Shingle Creek Regional Park - Steffee Landing
    4266 W Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34741

In Orlando you can also visit Wekiva Springs or Kelly Park where you can snorkel and also rent canoes. Other than that everything pretty much goes around the parks.

There are spoil islands in the Indian River Lagoon that you can camp on and hang your hammock. Also World Class fishing.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
