Hey TrailBlaser- What is your UQ Protector that you're using (assuming that's what it is)? How do you like it?

I have a minifly, and it does the job really well. It is light, takes up no space to speak of in my pack, and protects in the weather. I keep it in a net snakeskin. Set up close to the hammock it has enough coverage to stay dry in pretty much any weather, but it isn't spacious. I have an HG Standard with doors that I take if I expect a lot of weather issues, but it takes up a lot of space in the pack. They weigh about the same. It's like having a 3/4 UQ or a full length. There are pluses and minuses.

If ordering a Thunderfly for the Ridgerunner, the 13’ variant is recommended so that you can close the doors where the dogbones meet the continuous loops. Any shorter and the dog bones will push against the doors. You can shorten the dog bones some to use a shorter tarp, but this will put more pressure on the poles and make the hammock tippier. The 13’ hammocks from Warbonnet include rings on the inside of the ridgeline to hook the bugnet or spindrift to; a nice touch!
