As long as she doesn't hit you on the way out...you're still out! Just remember...dodge, dip, duck, dive and...dodge.

...and DON'T throw anything back. That just makes it worse when you get home

Right now the plan is to stay at Low Gap on the 2nd and then hit every shelter on the way to ****'s Creek. Not trying to cover a lot of ground, just mostly get out and hike... Anyone that is interested is welcome to go. Two of the guys that are going are in a tent (they are converts, just don't have hammocks yet ) and they have never hiked like this before, so we are not looking to break any speed records that week.

I'm heading up the the Chattooga River tomorrow morning, starting from the hwy 28 bridge and heading south. If any of y'all are heading up that way, I'll be the guy with the crappy old backpack and the little black dog who has a much nicer backpack of her own

I wish family obligations didn't tie up most weekends. I'd join you if I could.

    Have a great trip.

Hi from Kennesaw! We had a blast a few weeks ago on the Conasauga River in the Cohuttas in North Gerogia. We stayed very cool even though the temps around us were in the mid 90's. It felt like it was in the 70's!. As long as you're near a river ...the heat...NO PROBLEM!

I've got to write a trip report, got some more photos too!

Man, that's some sweet looking water! I bet you could see the trout just hanging there waiting to be caught...there's nothing like hanging next to a cold stream. I've done it a couple of times on opening day of trout season - roll out of the hammock and start fishing at first light!

I know, it was SO sweet to be that close to a swimming hole! From the hammock my view was a waterfall, talk about relaxing. I'm sure the next time I go, I'll be fighting for that spot. I LICKED the tree hanging over the water, so maybe no one will want it.
Some of my friends caught some fish, not sure I know what they were, but they were catching them like crazy. Being that close to the river was so nice at night too with cooler temps. I even had to bundle up at night to keep warm.
