Tammy, are you talking about cane creek nature preserve near Florence? It’s a great place to visit but I thing the Thompson creek trail is just as good if not better to me, cant go wrong either way!

I think that is where he buried Bebop.

You can always count on me and my big mouth! I'm sorry. I didn't know. He was as much a part of the hang as any of the rest of us. That's the perfect place for him to be. Sorry about that. I know how much you loved him Dale.

Thanks for the info on the trails. We'll definitely check out Thompson. Sounds like exactly what I was looking for.

Brett, I'll have to check out Cane Creek at some point. The pics look beautiful but since I don't speak whatever language is on their website, it's probably better stick with the familiar for a quick trip anyway. And the Sipsey is guaranteed beautiful and closer.

I appreciate all of y'alls help. Wildsouth will definitely give you some information but it's sometimes difficult to get the best places to go because their main concern is protecting the area from hoodlums like me. So I'm glad that I know other hoodlums that will tell me the good spots. I really do appreciate it.

Sorry again Dale. I would promise to watch my mouth but we all know that would be a lie. So I will just give you permission to talk bad about me behind my back or to my face. Either one.

Well it's hard to not know what you didn't know when you don't know it!

No problem, Tammy - you didn't know. Bebop got sick toward the end of December and slowly declined until his kidneys shut down in January. We had to put him down January 23. You are right; he was a part of The Sipsey Hang as much as any of us. He absolutely loved going there and hanging out with his friends. I couldn't think of a better place to bury him. We didn't mark his grave, but he is where the campfires will keep him warm and the voices of his friends will keep him company.

I'm really sorry to hear that. He was our little mascot. ❤But if he's that close to the campfire, I hope you gave him some earplugs. Poor innocent puppy might not need to be subjected to some of those conversations for his puppy eternity.

This looks like fun! I need to figure out a way to get there from Slidell, LA first. I want to go and have the time and will contribute. So once/if I figure out a way, count me in. I’d like to spend as much time there as I can. Arriving early and leaving late is my style if I’m able to.

Question: What’s the skeeter count look like over there at this time? Need a net?

It's a fantastic way to spend the weekend! You won't regret the drive. I was there this weekend, skeeters weren't out yet but that could easily change in 2 weeks. Better safe than sorry.
