    Hammock stabilizers?

Does anyone out there tie their hammock down to keep it from swinging while sleeping? Silly question I know but wondering if anyone had any neat tricks I haven't thought of yet. I guess the more you do it the more you get used to it and don't mind the motion.

I really don't notice any sway anymore, but many hammock models come with tieouts. Not sure if they help with sway or not. Curious what size hammock you are using and if that has anything to do with sway.

I just started using my tie-outs on my Chameleon. It does make a difference in the swaying, even in windy conditions. I've woken up in the middle of the night and turned over, and the hammock only sways for a couple seconds compared to not using tie outs. Only thing I still have to get used to is not tripping over the tie outs.

Several hammock designs have shock cord tie outs to reduce the sway. But many of us like hammocks specifically because of the sway. Adding a few small loops of ribbon to the edges of a hammock to tie some shock cord to is pretty simple though and would be an easy mod if you wanted to tweak a hammock.

I want to know how to add automated sway to my hammock as I love this feeling. I wish they made those automated child rockers in adult size

As suggested above, you can use some tie-outs to reduce the sway, but you may just find that you get used to it, and even enjoy it.
That's one of the great parts about hammocking. You have lots of options.

If it didn't add weight, I'd love to have something induce swing. Nice way to nod off!

I’m just checking to make sure that you use a ridgeline and that your hammock has plenty if sag. If it is tight it will be more tippy.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.
