    Greetings from the 'burg

Hello all, long time lurker from the Pittsburgh PA area. I spend my days in a cubicle as a software engineer always plotting my next outdoor excursion. I've got a wife and 2 year old daughter that I hope to get into the hobby once the kid is a bit older, and I also have a dog I have taken with me a couple times when I slept on the ground but haven't found a setup that works with the hammock where she is comfortable. I've been into hammock camping for the last 2 years and absolutely love it. I decided it was time to pull the trigger and upgrade my gear and figured I'd do an intro before I make any other post. Thanks for all the info I've consumed already and for the advice I hope to go for the upgrade(s) I'm hoping to make.

Welcome. There are quite a few of us from the Pittsburgh region and Western PA in general. Come on out to a group hang sometime and you can check out a variety of gear options firsthand.

Welcome from Wisconsin, my 75lb German Shepard sleeps with me (when its cold and he feels like it) and a ge is the best for us, I have a very wide hammock and he curls up behind my knees on his pad i made for him (side sleeper here). The Hex 2.2 is a good puncture resistant fabric for puppy dog nails!
    Happy hanging!

Welcome from Nashville, Tennessee. My dog was an abandoned pup found on a backbacking hike. He loves hiking with me and seems happy to sleep on a mat under my hammoick.
