As Wanderlust mentioned in the first post of this thread, we will be having a raffle/silent auction to benefit the Friends group at Twin Lakes. Friends groups are instrumental in a lot of ways and are available at many of the State Parks.

See the link below for more information on how they assist the parks in maintaining and operating and please consider joining them or volunteering at a Park near you!

What about early arrival--how early? Since the girls won't be arriving until early evening, I put in for the day off so I could have things set up for them when they arrive.

Early isn’t a problem. I have every intention of being there by noon at the very latest since I have off as well. Come as early as you want! Especially since i want to pick your amateur radio brain!

Tried to PM you, but your inbox was full. If you think of it, and can locate it, you have my dutch oven trivet that got mixed in with your things the last time we camped together at Grayson Highlands a couple of years ago. If you can't locate it, no worries. Looking forward to seeing you again. Have missed you at the North Carolina hangs.

Ok everyone! There have been a few changes that I thought I should mention. Nothing earth-shattering, but some things bear mentioning.

Firstly, Ranger Breanna (visitor experience ranger) has resigned from her position at the Park.

Ranger Jack will be giving us an interpretive talk at 5 pm on Saturday. You will not want to miss him giving the unique history of Twin Lakes State Park. Place is to be determined, but it will either be at our camp area or a nearby picnic shelter.

Also, Jack encourages you to ask about the archery program that will be taking place at 1pm on Saturday when you check in.

Since Ranger Breanna is no longer there, I will have to get with the Manager to see if any of our volunteer efforts will be changed. Remember that we have been asked to build bluebird houses, hang bat houses, take photos of the Park and also clear some trails behind the group area.

IMPORTANT: State Parks has implemented some site-specific reservations. In the area our group will be camping, we have sites 5,6,7,10,11 and 12 reserved as site-specific. With Corey’s being the one closest to the restrooms at the top of the hill. I *think* it is site #5. Please do not set up on this site since it has been reserved for his camper.

We also have 4 Orange sites reserved. These are mixed in throughout the campground and several are located within the group camping area. Those are the ones we will try to get, but there are no guarantees. We may have people who are not part of the group using them. This is not a problem, since we will convert them to be hangers. In short, if they are taken, some of you will have to take up residence in another area of the campground. Or, double up. We will make it work.

I will post again once I can confirm that the work orders will remain the same.
