Thanks, all, for making my first hang such a great experience. I was warm and toasty with my DIY CCF-Space Blanket combo that did much better than I ever expected: see http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=14196

..and thanks, Brandon, for the great tip about wearing my Sorrel Boot liners to bed!

Here is a link to my pics of the Hang...

Those are some great pics, Kaliram!

Especially Warbonnet freaking out behind Cannibal's butterfly-looking-fire-starting-trick.

So I did find the flashlight I was missing, but still managed to lose two pieces of gear - one was the transmitter for my wireless thermometer (I know exactly where it is - wedged in between two small trees where I left it ) and a figure 9 carabiner. Not bad, considering how we packed up without warning and in a hurry.

In other news, the dogs were freaked out when we got home, and didn't want to go on a walk - they kept dragging behind. By the time morning rolled around, they seemed much better, and they are back to their usual annoying selves by now. All three of them have lived in the southeast their whole lives, and I just don't think they were able to deal with the cold. I even tried setting up a tent for them, but it didn't do the trick.

Kaliram, I can't get into your picture album - photobucket says I need a password.

It was a pleasure meeting the 5 of you. Wish I hadn't been so tired and you guys could have stayed longer.

Your kids were definitely one of the highlights for Max.

I think it should be okay now....also, we did pick up the figure 9 carabiner, and also the movie screen...don't know about the remote, however. Not sure who has them (Cannibal?) Someone here will be getting in touch with you, I'm sure!

    Good to meet you!

Here are a few of my shots...

The reason we had to leave early

Pair of Warbonnet Blackbirds, with DIY down UQ's (thanks to MrsMustardman)

A wider shot, showing some of the camp. On the left you'll see the community fire ring, where all the fun was had.

It was fun getting to meet ya'll, and we really enjoyed ourselves, in the short time we were able to stay there. The food was awesome, the company was great, and I'm definitely getting a dog sitter next time. What do you guys say, next weekend? Maybe the one after that?

Yeah, it's working now - great set of pictures! Looks like Jeff had some fun with his jeep

The only thing of any value at all with that screen setup was the reflective rope. That's worth at least 50 cents or so We can get that shiny stuff for free any time we want (one of the perks of hooking up with a nurse ).

I was disappointed the screen didn't work better - I guess we will have to buy some dedicated screen material for next time. Still, it was fun watching Zombieland out in the woods
