    UQP with Pad Option

Is there any reason not to get the UQP with the option to hold a pad underneath? I have a Warbonnet BB with a Wooki 0 degree. I was thinking of using a pad during the spring summer months but I might buy a Wooki 2 season. Wanted to know any downside with ordering the UQP with the the pad option so I can go either way. I don't see any

For the gram weenies among us: doesn't it weigh a tad more? Cost?

That’s what I do. Pad in summer UQ winter but I hate how pads slide around so I got the pad opening option in my double layer trail lair.

Are you wanting to hold the pad in place with the UQP or get a double layer. If double layer that should work just fine and you'd probably find you didn't need to UQP at all.

My BB is a double layer, I am going to buy the UQP for things like rain splash, wind block in the winter, etc. There is a question on the page regarding needing to hold a pad which gives longer shock cord channels with heavy shock cord. I was just wondering if the UQP designed for a pad would work just as well with an underquilt. If it's just the extra weight like BillyBob58 said then I am good to go since the few extra grams of the heavy shock cord is fine for me.

The UQP designed to hold a pad in place will work for both the pad and underquilt. The only difference is longer shock cord channels and heavier shock cord. The heavier shock cord is there to hold the weight of the pad. It will work just the same with an underquilt. The weight difference is almost nothing.
