and/or who was first to market one?
and/or who was first to market one?
I don't know who did, but can definitevely say it wasn't me. You are now one step closer to finding out.
"If you play a Nicleback song backwards, you'll hear messages from the devil. Even worse, if you play it forward, you'll hear Nickleback." - Dave Grohl
Hooch, HA! big help!! but yes the search has been narrowed.
The first effort I recall was Brandon's, with his original (and short lived) Climashield UQ's. Perhaps Jeff or one of the other long-timers can corroborate that...
Things sure have come a long way since then.
“I think that when the lies are all told and forgot the truth will be there yet. It dont move about from place to place and it dont change from time to time. You cant corrupt it any more than you can salt salt.” - Cormac McCarthy
I has one of the first, the Warbonnet Climashield UQ!
I believe the first was invented by a tall guy.
I, too, believe it was Brandon.

The first place I saw anything similar was on Risk's website, http://www.imrisk.com/hammock/warmhammock.htm. I made a down and synthetic knock-off, along with a few other folks, and then a couple of us made some DIY underquilts. Brandon is the first person I can remember who marketed one. Te-wa sold a few around the same time, IIRC...but I don't remember the exact timeline.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
I have the original Climashield 'Yeti' from Warbonnet. I got it in October/November of 2007.
Trust nobody!
Of course Cannibil you are going to put the quilt into a display case for the Hammock Museum that you are going to start....right?
