    Welcom to HF.

That makes three of us kiwis here now but spread out from ak to qt.

Try naking some of your own gear-plenty of option for quilts abd gathered end hammocks.

Marine shops stock dyneema rope(recomend 3mm)

Whoopie slings are easy to make with all the tutorials atound but dutch beetle buckles look mighty good from the minimilst pov-only straps and buckles and direct to hammock.

In qt i would recomend an uq first-bought or made.you need insulation even in summer.

Top insulation you can wing it with sleeping bags or whatever untill you get something better.

    Welcome from Atlanta!

Not sure how it happened - I suppose it was a picture - but I've always had a fascination and lust to be in the New Zealand outdoors, primarily the mountains. Will get there someday and you can tell me about the best hanging spots, eh?
