How closely related to this forum is the hammockforums facebook group? Is the FB group ran by the same people?

Yes it is the same folks. Rick owns and started both. I moderate both.
However there are several FB forums with simular names several started by HF members that we have no control or influence.

I was wondering. I think I have it figured out now. After I had joined the forums here, I found a facebook group for hammock forums & joined it. After being on it for a week or so, it seemed like the attitude of some of the people on there (mainly admins) was different from what I've experienced here. I got to checking & it didn't seem like the admins of that group matched the admins of the forums.
I have located the bona fide group now.

Man, I'm glad you guys cleared this up! I had the same experience as Shaky. Found a group called Hammock Forums, joined up, and then thought... What the heck is going on around here!?

I just joined the FaceBag because a vendor (not hammock related) was sending me messages related to my order.

I did not know the FB page existed.

I also joined the wrong group.
