I think it would only sink a couple inches at most...a beach would the the only exception.
Stand the legs on boards. Drill shallow holes in the boards to make it more secure, if you think you need to.
I collect vintage camp stoves.
I roast coffee at home.
In addition to cutting the top rails in half and adding the couplings I made the legs at the foot end 6 inches longer than the head end

on the end of the tubing so it wont damage the floor.
