Thanks for sharing your trip. Your camp looked inviting, particularly with the sound of rain/sleet/snow on the tarp. Your homemade vestibule looked very practical. The view southeast from the AT in sunshine were stunning. I spent several days last fall with my local backpacking group near the Thomas Knob shelter. Add a snowy landscape to that setting makes it even more special. Glad you had a safe return to your car.

Yeah the little vestibule worked out nicely. It was practical for that particular situation. Normally I would be outside the tarp or under it in porch mode but the snow and sleet was coming down sideways at times so I just deployed it fully.
