I have hung at both Peaks of Otter and Crabtree Falls with no problem. Without doing some research, I can't remember which state parks I have stayed in that are close to the BRP ... to have the option of hot water for showers. I have driven the BRP twice and had a blast both times. Would love to do it again, but there are other places to visit on my to-do list.

Road trip showers can be had at truck stops. All the times I have done it, they were clean and towels provided.
    I collect vintage camp stoves.
    I roast coffee at home.

Thanks for the ton of info guys! So far the plan is to start at mile post 0 and ride south. It's looking like about a 3 1/2 to 4 day run, then maybe a 1/2 to a full day in Maggy Valley and Cherokee. On to the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon south via the Moonshiner28 and home.

Biker Bob thanks for the info. I like the idea for a riders hang something to look into.

I assume you intend to visit Dale in Maggy Valley, certainly worth the time. Highway 28 between Smokey Mountain Xwqy and Deal's Gap is currently closed due to a landslide. Check before planning to travel it. Iron Horse and Kick Stand are both located on 28 as well. Iron Horse is very fancy with prime rib on Saturday if you arrive in time to put in your order. They are more expensive than anybody else.

You say Dale ... You mean Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley? An awesome place.
I have been here nearly 11 years and I finally went this last fall. Worth the time.

Give yourself some time to really see the Wheels Through Time.
I can suggest some places to eat, but they will not be in Maggie Valley.

I rode this route back in 2004, but had to detour around a few sections of the BR highway due to hurricane damage and road closures. We had a good time and stayed at Deals Gap - we did hotels all the way however. Watched the crazies race the Dragon - we did it end to end in a more leisurely pace, however.
Part of a trip from upstate NY to Daytona, FL and back. Too many memories to relate by typing, but a good time with my riding partner.
Hope you have great weather and successful hangs!

Sounds good, I'm look for great paces to eat. One of my ideas for this trip to avoid chain restaurants and lodging as much as I can.
